Welcome
Helping Heroes Through the Power of Music
Music is powerful. It transcends culture, tells stories, speaks to every emotion we feel. And music can heal.
Gabriel’s Friends harnesses the healing power of music to help UK military personnel. We work principally with Royal Marines, but our support is open to all British veterans as well as serving men and women.
Together with our excellent partners we run music workshops which enable military personnel to create music, regardless of their level. Our workshops aim to help those who are enduring illness or wounds to body, mind or spirit. As we grow, we aim to help many more people through the therapeutic power of music.
Who we are
Gabriel’s Friends exists to honour Gabriel Lahs-Hughes. Founded by his mother Lyndon and a group of Gabriel’s closest friends from his time at Christ’s Hospital School and St. George’s School, Windsor Castle.
What we do
PROJECT ROCK, our inaugural project, is a co-creation with Hasler NSRC, Plymouth. Recovery and recuperation can be very demanding with oftentimes tough schedules to follow, so offering music as a creative outlet has been hugely welcomed.
Why
Our inspiration for bringing together military personnel who are suffering as a result of their service and the healing power of music.
